I have been using Qwant for the last week. SO far it's been extremely accurate and giving better results than Google does. So it does make it a good replacement.
I tried DuckDuckGo and it was not good for results.
I would give it a try if you have not. Yes you can get more privacy focused search engines but none have good results at no cost so it makes a good drop in replacement.
